Unlocking Sustainable Solutions: Exploring Biochar Projects for a Greener Tomorrow
Industrial Scale Biochar
The Biochar Production
Biochar production is a sustainable and environmentally responsible process that repurposes agricultural waste, such as cotton stalks or pigeon pea stalks, after their primary crop use. Initially, the stalks are harvested, bundled, and then dried in an open, well-ventilated area to reduce their moisture content. Subsequently, these dried stalks serve as feedstock for biochar production, often achieved through methods like pyrolysis. During pyrolysis, the biomass is heated in a low-oxygen environment, leading to the conversion of the biomass into biochar while capturing and utilizing the released gases. This approach not only minimizes waste but also contributes to reduced emissions, promoting sustainable management of biomass resources.
